The 0.5A SVR05 & 1A SVR10 switching regulators provide a competitive, low-cost, non-isolated point of load (POL) solution without compromising on quality and performance. An industry standard pin-out enables easy substitution for competitors’ products. They are a compact, cost-effective means of step-down voltage conversion in all sorts of ITE & industrial electronic equipment, for instance: Portable & battery-operated equipment; Sensors; Robotics; Telecommunications; Instrumentation; Embedded computing; Distributed DC supply systems requiring regulation but not needing isolation.
With efficiency of up to 95%, very little energy is wasted as heat so there is no heatsink required, minimizing the space envelope required. Depending on model the SVR input range begins at 4.75VDC, with a maximum input of 28 to 36VDC, ideal for 12 or 24VDC bus applications. Both series have outputs of 1.5, 1.8, 2.5, 3.3, 5, 6.5, 9, 12VDC, in addition the SVR05 has a 15VDC model. All models feature a ±10% output trim by external resistor.
The SVR series have excellent line/load regulation, low ripple & noise, and a low quiescent current (no load) of 0.2/1.5mA (SVR05) or 0.2/1mA (SVR10). When inhibited the standby input current is typically 30µA (SVR05) or 200µA (SVR10). All versions have overload protection, the output also has continuous short circuit protection with automatic reset.
Standards include: EN55032 Class B conducted and radiated for EMC emissions (ITE) with minimal external filtering; EN61000-4-2,3,4,5,6 for EMC immunity with external filter. The operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C with full power available between + 40°C and +71°C depending on model (see datasheets for derating curves). Calculated MTBF is greater than 2Mhrs (MIL-HDBK-217F, +25°C).
Housed in a non-conductive UL94V-0 plastic SMD10 package, dimensions are: 0.60” x 0.335” x 0.315” (15.24 x 8.5 x 8.25mm). Packed in tubes the SVR05 & SVR10 are supplied in tube quantities of 32, the -TR tape & reel option has a reel size of 300 pieces.
